TouchDesigner: 099 TouchBug

I wanted to play with instancing, because truth be told, I hadn't gotten my head around the concept really. I mean, I talked a big game like, "Yeah, instancing, it's super good for the CPU. I'm all about that jazz." But I really had no clue. This would also be a good excuse to play with the Panel CHOP and see what I could do messing around with just a mouse for interactivity.

After watching several tutorials with the great Matty Rags (Matthew Ragan) I felt I was ready to go. Turns out, when you build a 3D model in Touch from primitives inside a GEO - it gonna break all up when you instance. Turns out the solution was switching a setting on the second instancing menu to "world view first" or something of that sort. Took five seconds to fix it after an hour of confused message board/forum searching.

Someone asked me how I exported a program that did this using TouchDesigner. Well, I didn't. I'm cheating. I've fallen in love with compositing my Touch projects over a screen-shot of my desktop background, so it looks like all this weird stuff is happening to my computer. So, yeah, it's fake AR. Or at least, it's hyper-Augmented Reality.
